Vitalize Secures $31 Million to Address Healthcare’s Staffing Chaos

Vitalize raised $31 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate the growth of its artificial intelligence (AI)-native platform that helps health systems manage labor and capacity, the company said in a Tuesday (Oct. 6) press release.

The Vitalize platform is designed for the healthcare workforce and coordinates staffing and capacity across the entire enterprise. Its AI automates scheduling tasks, forecasts demand and orchestrates staff, according to the release.

“Health systems are still running their single largest cost center on spreadsheets and group texts,” Vitalize CEO and Co-Founder Veeraj Shah said in the release. “That drains the budget, burns out frontline teams and hurts patients. We built Vitalize to move labor and capacity from manual and reactive to automated and predictive.”

The Vitalize platform integrates natively with leading electronic medical record (EMR) and time-and-payroll systems, enabling clinical teams to reduce the number of tools they use to run staffing, scheduling and capacity planning, according to the release.

The platform is used by dozens of enterprise health systems, manages millions of shifts per week and delivers measurable return on investment by cutting premium labor spend, the release said.

With the new funding, Vitalize will build its growth and deployment teams, and invest in its AI models for patient throughput optimization, per the release.
