Visa Sets Up Six Singapore Hubs for AI, Next-Gen Payments

Visa is expanding its work on AI and next-generation payments with six new global technology hubs in Singapore.

The hubs will be based at Visa’s new Solution Center in Paya Lebar Green.

The centre will bring together more than 1,500 employees across technology, product development, cybersecurity and engineering.

The six hubs will focus on three areas: AI and commerce, next-generation payments, and security and resilience.

Its AI teams will develop applications for payments and fintech, including agentic commerce, where AI agents can securely interact with consumers, merchants and payment networks.

Other teams will research stablecoins, digital money and programmable payments, alongside digital wallets and alternative payment methods.

Visa will also explore applications of quantum computing in financial services and strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities.

“Many of the world’s most complex questions around payments innovation, digital money, AI and trust are being solved in Asia Pacific.

By bringing these capabilities together in Singapore, we are creating a hub that can develop globally relevant solutions while supporting Singapore’s continued leadership in technology and innovation,”

The Singapore teams will work with financial institutions, fintech companies and research institutions to develop new technologies.

Visa identified AXS, DBS, DCS, FOMO Pay, Nium and StraitsX among its ecosystem partners.

The company is also participating in the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s BLOOM (Borderless, Liquid, Open, Online, Multi-currency) initiative.

“Visa’s latest investment in six global capability hubs here will create new high-value jobs for Singaporeans.

It will also bolster Singapore’s role in developing innovative financial products and solutions in areas such as agentic commerce and quantum,”
