Vestmark, a wealth management technology and services provider, has joined forces with Allspring Global Investments, an asset manager with $603bn in assets under advisement, to help registered investment advisers (RIAs) create and run personalised, tax-aware model portfolios at scale.
Under the strategic tie-up, Allspring will contribute its range of actively managed public markets strategies, along with consultation on portfolio construction. Vestmark will supply the technology, trading capabilities and tax-sensitive implementation needed to put those strategies to work. The aim is to let advisers keep control of asset allocation and how portfolios are built, while handing off much of the operational burden.
Advisers will be able to blend Allspring’s institutional-grade active strategies with other holdings inside open-architecture portfolios. The offering runs on Vestmark’s unified managed account (UMA) infrastructure and gives access to outsourced investment management, trading, rebalancing, tax-aware transitions and continuing tax management. These services are delivered through Vestmark Advisory Solutions and VAST, the firm’s tax-overlay tool, with the goal of making portfolio implementation and day-to-day oversight simpler for advisers.
Vestmark works with six of the ten biggest managed account programme providers. Its platform supports over $2tn in assets, upwards of five million investor accounts and more than 72,000 financial advisers. The enterprise system underpins UMAs, model portfolios, direct indexing, tax optimisation and a variety of other personalised investment programmes, giving asset managers and wealth firms the infrastructure required to roll out investment strategies at scale.
Vestmark executive vice president, advisory solutions Rob Battista said, “Advisors increasingly want greater control over portfolio construction without taking on the operational complexity that comes with implementing and managing customized portfolios at scale.
