Tavant, a Silicon Valley-based AI transformation specialist, has launched Mortgage Data Foundry, a platform designed to help lenders reduce loan origination costs and improve conversion rates by consolidating fragmented systems into a single governed data layer.
The platform collects information in real time from lenders’ existing mortgage systems and consolidates it into an AI-ready data foundation built around Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) standards. Designed to operate on lenders’ own cloud data platforms, it provides a connected, loan-level view of customers, compliance, risk, operations and recommended actions.
The launch addresses a longstanding challenge for mortgage providers, where data is frequently spread across customer relationship management (CRM), point-of-sale, pricing, loan origination, underwriting, secondary marketing, servicing and accounting systems. Fragmentation can lead to inconsistent reporting, manual preparation for compliance examinations and difficulties deploying AI agents effectively.
Mortgage Data Foundry operates in read-only mode, drawing information from existing origination and servicing platforms without replacing them, modifying their records or duplicating their eligibility and underwriting logic. Its architecture comprises four components: configurable connectors to source systems; a canonical data model aligned with MISMO standards that standardises loan, borrower and customer records; an ontology layer mapping relationships between data entities; and controlled access through dashboards, natural language queries and Model Context Protocol (MCP)-compliant endpoints.
The platform is designed to give executives near real-time visibility into lending volumes, loan pull-through, margins and operational performance, alongside recommendations for next-best actions. Tavant says Mortgage Data Foundry aims to reduce the cost of producing each loan by 15% to 25%, increase the proportion of locked loans that progress through the pipeline, retain 10% to 20% more existing borrowers when they refinance or purchase another property, and reduce reporting timelines from days to hours.
