Stuut raises $52.5m Series B to automate order-to-cash

Stuut, an AI platform that automates the order-to-cash process for large enterprises, has secured $52.5m in a Series B round, arriving only ten months after the company closed its Series A.

Insight Partners led the investment. Andreessen Horowitz, M12 (Microsoft’s venture arm) and Activant also took part.

Stuut says it now has more than 150 businesses on the platform, including Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies. Over $3bn has been processed through Stuut so far. The company says clients have cut days sales outstanding (DSO) by 47% and gained up to 40% more cash flow. According to Stuut, every enterprise that has completed a proof of concept with it has gone on to become a paying customer.

Stuut began in collections. As it took on bigger clients, it found that late payments usually came from problems much earlier in the transaction, such as a missing purchase order, mismatched pricing, an invoice sent to the wrong contact, or information lost as a deal moved between sales, operations and finance teams. The firm notes that businesses globally hold around $16 trillion in receivables. It estimates that a poorly functioning order-to-cash process can cost a company 5% of its revenue, which adds up to almost $1 trillion each year across the Fortune 500. Stuut argues that legacy tools in this space mostly flagged issues and then left staff to fix them.

The platform acts as an AI coworker covering the whole order-to-cash cycle in a single system: order management, credit, collections, payments, cash application, disputes and deductions.
