Standard Chartered is partnering with Air India to offer the airline’s frequent flyer status to affluent Global Indian clients in Singapore and the UAE.
The partnership combines Standard Chartered’s cross-border wealth management services with Air India’s Maharaja Club loyalty programme and will launch in the coming weeks.
Standard Chartered will offer eligible affluent clients Maharaja Club Gold or Silver status. Meanwhile, Air India customers who meet the bank’s eligibility criteria can access its wealth centres in Singapore and the UAE.
Maharaja Club status comes with travel benefits including extra baggage allowance, priority check-in and boarding, airport lounge access, upgrade vouchers and bonus Maharaja Points.
Gold members also receive Star Alliance Gold status. According to the companies, this provides access to more than 1,000 airport lounges worldwide, along with priority airport services and extra baggage benefits on 25 other Star Alliance member airlines.
For Air India customers, the partnership opens a path to Standard Chartered’s international banking and wealth management services.
Eligible clients will get dedicated relationship management support and market outlook insights from the bank’s Chief Investment Office.
They will also receive invitations to the bank’s thought leadership events and wealth solutions tailored to cross-border financial needs.
With Singapore as one of the two launch markets, the bank’s Singapore wealth centre will serve as a point of access for eligible Global Indian clients.
“This partnership brings together two trusted heritage brands to create a distinctive proposition for Global Indians, whose lives, business and ambitions increasingly span borders,”
said Rajesh Kannan, Head, Wealth and Retail Banking, UAE & Jersey, and Head, Global Indian Clients, Standard Chartered.
