ScribeUp, an AI-driven provider of embedded recurring bill tools for financial institutions, has secured $13m in a Series A round as lenders face mounting pressure to keep control of everyday consumer spending.
Curql led the round, joined by Mucker Capital and Service Ventures. The financing combines $10m of equity with a $3m venture debt facility.
The platform sits inside a bank’s existing digital channels and pairs data on recurring payments with wider account context, such as balances, cash flow, the timing of payments and the institution’s own product range.
Rather than simply warning customers that a payment is approaching, it lets them act. A user can cancel a subscription they no longer use, switch the card or account linked to a biller, draw on an advance or move an outside loan to a new lender. Its agentic technology allows any supported biller action to be completed on any monitored bill without leaving the banking app.
ScribeUp counts over 60 banks, credit unions, FinTechs and neobanks among its clients and already connects to leading digital banking platforms. Institutions can roll out the service by SDK, iframe or API, which spares them from developing the underlying systems in-house.
The company is positioning itself against a growing threat. AI assistants and personal finance apps increasingly treat frustration with subscriptions and bills as an entry point into the rest of a customer’s financial life.
ScribeUp aims to let banks offer the same proactive, action-led service directly, drawing on data and products that outside assistants cannot reach.
