Napier AI taps LSEG World-Check On Demand for screening

Napier AI, a financial crime compliance technology provider, has linked its Transaction Screening product with LSEG’s newly launched World-Check On Demand, giving financial institutions the ability to check payments against fresh sanctions intelligence just minutes after it is released.

The Napier AI offering has passed the technology validation stage for the integration. Through an API connection, banks and other financial firms can now run payments against World-Check risk intelligence almost as soon as LSEG’s analysts make it available. Firms can then use this data within screening processes tailored to their own risk appetite, internal policies and chosen data sources.

World-Check On Demand is the latest API-driven version of LSEG’s World-Check service. It provides constantly refreshed, real-time intelligence covering sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), adverse media and enforcement actions, so that organisations can draw on current and accurate information whenever they need it.

Screening large volumes of payments for PEP and adverse media risks often produces a high number of false positives. Napier AI’s Transaction Screening is designed to handle every payment in real time, including checks against World-Check On Demand data, while maintaining accuracy. Firms can also set screening rules according to payment rail and customer risk category, letting them decide which transactions should be validated against World-Check On Demand.

The integration also brings a more detailed and granular data structure, which supports risk-based screening set-ups. Because the data is machine-readable, it can feed into automated and AI-powered workflows, while source information at field level gives firms better visibility over where data originates.
