Konsileo raises £5m to fuel broker-led growth

Konsileo, a UK chartered insurance broker built around empowering its brokers, has closed a £5m equity round to drive its next stage of expansion.

The funding was led by Committed Capital, which has backed the firm for many years, with ACF Investors also participating.

Founded in 2017, the independent broker now has a workforce of over 220 and places more than £85m in insurance premiums each year on behalf of UK businesses. Its stated ambition is for its brokers to be the most content, highest rewarded and most professional in the sector.

To achieve this, Konsileo has structured itself so that risk professionals can concentrate on serving clients. Rather than traditional managers, it operates a flat model where coaching takes the place of bosses. Its pay model rewards the value brokers generate through client relationships, and it puts significant resources into staff development via the Konsileo Academy.

The company has also developed a proprietary broking platform. The technology handles routine administration automatically, builds compliance checks into the process and supports brokers in gathering more accurate risk data.

Konsileo’s reputation as an employer was highlighted in May 2026, when it took the top spot for medium-sized financial services organisations at The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026.

The business is led by co-founder and CEO John Warburton, who brings more than two decades of international experience in insurance and consulting from roles at Aviva, Accenture and Allianz, where he oversaw global marketing strategy and digital projects.

Konsileo CEO John Warburton said, “We’ve always believed that great brokers do their best work when you give them autonomy, equip them properly and support them rather than manage them.
