FOMO Pay has partnered with Sumsub, an AI-driven trust infrastructure provider for large-scale compliance operations, to reinforce its compliance capabilities as it grows across several regions.
Under the deal, FOMO Pay will add Sumsub’s tools to its existing technology stack, bringing identity checks, business verification and transaction monitoring into its operations. The Singapore firm is using the arrangement to meet regulatory and operational demands that shift as it enters new markets.
The partnership comes at a time of rising fraud pressure. According to Sumsub’s Identity Fraud Report 2025-26, complex AI-backed attacks involving multiple stages and significant resources grew 180% globally in 2025 compared with the year before. The Middle East saw the steepest regional rise in fraud at 19.8%, with APAC second at 16.4%.
Deepfakes are a growing problem in Asia, where incidents climbed 158% in Singapore and 147% in Hong Kong over the same period. Combined with differing local rules, these trends make the case for compliance systems that can scale and connect across jurisdictions.
FOMO Pay will deploy Sumsub’s modular, API-first platform as a supplementary layer, refining processes for different customer groups and regions. The platform recognises over 14,000 types of identity document issued in more than 220 countries and territories. Its in-house liveness detection adds further protection and can catch as many as 99.98% of deepfake attempts in one scan.
During onboarding, FOMO Pay will also use the platform for business checks, ownership verification and anti-money laundering screening. After customers are onboarded, Sumsub’s transaction monitoring will help FOMO Pay review payments and account behaviour for warning signs, giving the company compliance coverage across the full customer lifecycle.
