Endeavor backs Prometeo as AI agents raise payment risk

Prometeo, a Uruguay-based provider of compliant cross-border money movement infrastructure for enterprises, digital platforms and AI agents, has joined the Endeavor Entrepreneur network following an international selection process held in Canada from 15 to 17 September.

The Montevideo-based company secured its place after pitching to Endeavor’s International Selection Panel, a rotating group of business leaders and serial founders that assesses candidates on their growth models, leadership and ability to scale.

Founders reach the selection stage after being nominated by a local Endeavor office and completing several months of screening. Endeavor operates across more than 40 countries, supporting founders whose companies have demonstrated potential to scale internationally.

Prometeo’s selection comes as the company expands its risk intelligence, identity and financial account verification capabilities alongside a push into the US market.

The company has focused on connecting banks, payment rails and data formats across fragmented financial markets through a single integration. It is now applying that infrastructure to the growing use of AI agents in financial transactions.

As AI agents increasingly gain the ability to initiate and execute payments, Prometeo believes verifying who is receiving funds and whether transactions comply with local requirements will become increasingly important.

Prometeo provides an API designed to verify whether an account exists, confirm the identity of its holder and assess whether a transaction meets local regulatory requirements before funds are transferred.

The platform combines account verification, anti-fraud and compliance capabilities with domestic and cross-border payment execution. Prometeo said its infrastructure connects businesses with more than 7,500 financial institutions across more than 110 countries and includes partnerships with SWIFT, Citi and JPMorgan.
