Eltropy launches Branded Texting to Combat Impersonation Scams

Eltropy, the agentic AI platform for credit unions and community banks, announces the launch of Branded Texting, which brings verified identity and richer, interactive messaging to financial institutions.

Texting works because it fits into people’s lives. Branded Texting is a game changer because it builds on that familiarity with verified identity and a much richer experience.”

Built on Rich Communication Services (RCS), Branded Texting helps consumers recognize Texts from their trusted credit union or community bank through a carrier-verified business profile, while giving them simpler ways to respond and act. RCS is now supported on Apple iOS and Google Android devices across major U.S. carriers, expanding the reach of Branded Texting to nearly 9 in 10 phones in the United States.

Text messaging is already part of everyday life. Americans exchanged nearly 2.2 trillion Texts in 2024, according to CTIA. For financial institutions, that familiar channel connects consumers with payment reminders, loan updates, appointments and timely support. Branded Texting builds on that foundation with verified business profiles, images, interactive cards, carousels and tap-to-act buttons.

“The timing reflects a significant expansion in RCS availability. Juniper Research estimates that the share of mobile devices in North America able to receive RCS business messages rose from 40.3% in 2024 to 86.5% in 2025,” said Dibyendu Roy, Senior Director, Products at Eltropy. “That broader reach creates an opportunity for credit unions and community banks to offer more capable digital interactions within the messaging apps consumers already use.”
