Debit card transaction volumes increased on a monthly basis in July, reversing some of the weakness seen in the previous month. Total debit card transaction value also rose around 2 per cent from June 2026. On an annual basis, however, debit cards remained under pressure. Total transaction volume declined approximately 9 per cent year-on-year, while transaction value contracted around 5 per cent, reflecting the continued shift in consumer payments towards alternative digital payment modes.
