Capital.com Secures MAS License Ahead of Singapore Launch in 2027

Capital.com has secured a Capital Markets Services license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), marking its entry into Southeast Asia.

The license, granted to its local entity Capital Com Securities (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., covers dealing in capital markets products, including securities and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives contracts.

The trading platform plans to begin onboarding clients in Singapore in early 2027.

Founded in 2016, Capital.com holds licenses in jurisdictions including the UK, the EU, the Middle East, Africa and Australia. Singapore is its first regulated market in Southeast Asia.

Ahead of onboarding, Capital.com is preparing its platform and local services to meet Singapore’s regulatory and operational requirements.

These include identity verification through Singpass MyInfo, full client verification before trading and mandatory two-factor authentication at sign-in.

Once onboarding begins, Singapore clients will have access to market insights and analysis, educational resources, charting tools and risk-management features such as stop-loss orders.

The platform will also provide in-app explanations of financial instruments and risk mechanisms to help users better understand their trading decisions.

“Singapore sets a high bar for how financial services are delivered, and the MAS licensing process examines every part of a firm’s governance, controls and capital,”

“Holding a license here means operating to that standard locally, with supervision of how we onboard clients, communicate risk and safeguard client assets,”

Capital.com has appointed Tony Lim as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of its Singapore entity.

Lim has more than 30 years of experience in Singapore’s capital markets, having held roles at the Singapore International Monetary Exchange (SIMEX), Singapore Exchange, DBS Vickers Securities and Saxo Capital Markets.
