Blackdot Solutions, a provider of intelligence and investigations software, has joined forces with Opoint, a worldwide media intelligence and news data firm, to feed structured news and adverse media insight directly into its Videris platform.
Under the agreement, Opoint’s international news dataset will be made available inside Blackdot’s Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) platform. The dataset draws on more than 250,000 news outlets and generates around 3.5 million articles each day, giving investigators a far broader pool of reporting to examine.
The tie-up is designed to strengthen how investigators carry out adverse media checks, add richer risk context at the entity level and deepen their analytical work. A key advantage lies in access to regional and local reporting alongside global coverage, which means users can uncover material that larger international outlets may never pick up.
Practical applications include adverse media screening, investigations into money laundering and terrorist financing, and enhanced due diligence. By drawing on media from across the globe and from individual regions, investigators should be able to spot risk faster and with less manual effort.
Videris serves a range of users, from Financial Intelligence Units and law enforcement agencies to compliance teams in financial services and corporate risk specialists. The platform supports OSINT investigations through capabilities such as entity mapping, risk analysis and structured reporting backed by complete audit trails. Bringing Opoint’s news intelligence on board adds further context around the people and organisations being scrutinised.
Opoint CSO Toby Cook said, “Our partnership with Blackdot brings Opoint’s global news intelligence directly into investigative workflows within the Videris platform.
