$150m war chest gives NexBank room to move on growth

NexBank Capital, the Dallas-based financial holding company behind the largest privately held bank in Texas by assets, has secured $150m through a sale of non-voting common stock. The deal gives it fresh firepower to act quickly on growth opportunities.

The transaction closed on 29 September 2026. It brings the total the company has raised through equity offerings since 2021 to $540m. Because the stock is non-voting, the business has added substantial capital without handing new investors a say in its governance.

NexBank Capital plans to deploy the funds to support expansion and to cover general corporate needs. The group said the injection gives it the flexibility to pursue growth on an opportunistic basis, which suggests it intends to move when the right openings appear rather than follow a fixed timetable.

Two advisers supported the offering. Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. acted as financial adviser on $75m of the total raised. Hunton Andrews Kurth LLC provided legal counsel to NexBank Capital throughout the process.

NexBank Capital holds $18bn in assets. It serves institutional clients, financial institutions, corporations and consumers across the US. It does this through its subsidiary NexBank, which delivers institutional, commercial, mortgage and personal banking services.
