Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Xpeng is expanding its dealership and service network to 66 locations across Australia and 7 in New Zealand, following the collapse of its Australian distributor and its subsequent decision to establish direct, factory-backed operations,
Xpeng opened its flagship showroom in Sydney at the end of 2024 and a second major showroom at Crown Sydney in July 2025, and after the failure of TrueEV Distribution, and says that by the end of the year it will have locations across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, and the Northern Territory.
In New Zealand, Xpeng will offer only 7 locations across both the North and South Islands.
The expansion of its dealer and service network comes in advance of the arrival of the Xpeng L03 compact SUV and the G9L premium large SUV to local showrooms. Pricing has already been confirmed for the L03, starting from $A41,900 ($NZ49,990) before on-road costs, while pricing and specifications for G9L will be confirmed before the end of the year.
Xpeng also confirmed that it would support Xpeng customers who purchased vehicles from TrueEV and promised to review each purchase individually and work with customers to reach “an appropriate outcome” with regards to the various promotional commitments made at the time of purchase.
Customers need only email [email protected] with their name, vehicle details (VIN if available), proof of purchase, and any documentation detailing the commitments made to get the review process started.
“Xpeng ANZ promised certainty for all Xpeng owners in Australia and New Zealand, and that is what our customer service team is delivering,” said Shaun Anthony, Xpeng ANZ national after sales manager.
