Volkswagen Anhui has launched updated versions of the ID. UNYX 06 and ID. UNYX 07, adding LiDAR-based driver assistance and lowering entry prices to strengthen its competitiveness in China's electric vehicle market.
The Volkswagen joint venture announced the launches on Saturday, with the ID. UNYX 07 Lite offered at a promotional price of 99,900 yuan ($14,860) for the Double 11 shopping festival, marking the first time Volkswagen has priced a pure-electric model in China below 100,000 yuan.
The ID. UNYX 07, an all-electric sedan, is available in 4 variants with list prices ranging from 109,900 yuan to 149,900 yuan. The 99,900 yuan promotional price applies only to the entry-level Lite variant.
The ID. UNYX 06, an all-electric coupe SUV, comes in 3 variants with list prices ranging from 129,900 yuan to 169,900 yuan. Its Lite variant has a Double 11 promotional price of 119,900 yuan.
Starting list prices for both models are 20,000 yuan lower than at their May launches, when the ID. UNYX 06 and ID. UNYX 07 started at 149,900 yuan and 129,900 yuan, respectively.
A key addition is a LiDAR-equipped driver-assistance system powered by the Journey 6H chip from Horizon Robotics (HKEX: 9660), enabling NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) on city streets.
The updated ID. UNYX 07 offers vision-only and LiDAR-based driver-assistance systems, supporting highway and city navigation assistance, respectively.
The LiDAR-based system supports parking-space-to-parking-space assisted driving and can handle scenarios including U-turns at urban intersections, passing oncoming vehicles on narrow roads and recognizing access gates.
