Volkswagen launches long-wheelbase version of the ID. Buzz Cargo for €48,490

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is expanding the ID. Buzz Cargo lineup with a new variant: the Cargo with a long wheelbase (LWB). This model increases battery capacity to 86 kWh and cargo volume to 4.4 cubic meters. Prices start at €48,490 net.

At the end of last year, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWN) announced its intention to launch the ID. Buzz Cargo with a long wheelbase and the larger 86-kWh battery on the market during 2026. Now, the time has come: the longer ID. Buzz Cargo with all-wheel drive is available to order from today, while the single-motor variant can be ordered from next week. This means the cargo van is catching up with its passenger counterpart, which has already had a long-wheelbase version since summer 2024.

Pre-sales for the long-wheelbase ID. Buzz Cargo with 250 kW and all-wheel drive start today at prices from €50,630. The rear-wheel-drive variant will follow next week and can then be ordered from €48,490. The surcharge for the extended version compared to the standard model in Germany thus sits around €2,340. This includes an increased battery capacity from 79 to 86 kWh and a second sliding door as standard, among other things.

But let’s take it step by step, starting with the extension of the model itself: in the long-wheelbase version of the ID. Buzz, it is not the rear overhang that is extended, but the wheelbase. 25 metres. 96 metres. 4 cubic metres. The loading area of the ID. 23 metres.
