Type 01 unveiled: the latest Jaguar enters series production

Jaguar has unveiled its first production vehicle since the brand's restart. The Jaguar Type 01 is an all-electric four-door GT and is expected to cost around €165,000.

Jaguar has demonstrated remarkable boldness in recent years, embarking on a new era with its brand reinvention. The Type 00 concept car – a futuristic and polarising two-door GT – symbolised this transformation. Now, with the unveiling of the Type 01, Jaguar reveals just how much of that daring vision has been carried over into the four-door production version. Once again, the manufacturer proves its audacity, as its earlier concept did not overpromise on what will soon roll off the production line in Solihull, UK.

The Jaguar Type 01 stretches to just under 5.24 metres in length, with a height of only 1.41 metres and a width of 2.00 metres. The extremely low roofline and elongated proportions visually emphasise the impressive wheelbase of 3.20 metres. The bodywork features large, smooth surfaces and sharp edges, with flush-integrated door handles, sensors, and cameras. Instead of a rear window, the interior uses digital mirrors.

Inside, Jaguar continues its minimalist aesthetic, as there are no haptic controls or excessive screen landscapes to be found. A 24-inch instrument display behind the steering wheel and a small, vertical 7-inch touch control on the centre console – which extends between the two individual seats in the second row – are supplemented only by flat controls on the steering wheel.

But let’s talk about more than just design. The real question is: what about the hard facts?
