There's a tired saying in the automotive biz regarding expensive car prices: "If you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it." And as tired and cliché as it is, it's true. People who can afford cars like the new Ferrari Luce don't care how much it costs, they just buy it. That doesn't mean we plebeians aren't allow to be shocked at it's newly released official price tag, though. First reported by Car and Driver, and confirmed to us by Ferrari, the Luce starts at an eye-watering $560,800.
I know car prices of any kind shouldn't really be shocking anymore, as tech bro Instagram accounts have trivialized owning cars with mansion-like price tags. But I'm not sure I'll ever see a half-million-dollar MSRP and not at least widen my eyes with a smidgen of disbelief. In Ferrari's defense, there's a lot of car here, and it seems to be pretty damn special to drive. Even if you don't like the looks, the Luce is probably the most do-it-all Ferrari of all time, so it might actually be the most justifiably expensive car in Maranello's lineup.
For all that money, you get four electric motors that combine for a Bugatti Veyron-beating 1,035 horsepower. Remember, this is a four-door sedan, not a hypercar, and yet it has hypercar power and performance. Juicing those motors is a massive 122 kWh battery pack that should give it around 280 miles of range. That's not much range when compared to most Teslas, Lucids, Rivians, BMWs , and even Hyundais.
