French energy provider Sorégies is taking over BP's fast-charging business in France. The package includes more than 600 existing charging points, nearly 200 more in development, as well as the associated technology and operations team.
Sorégies has announced the acquisition of 32 operational BP Pulse sites with over 600 charging points, along with 14 additional sites under development that will add nearly 200 more charging points. The deal also includes a stock of charging hardware and transformer stations. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, though the purchase price remains undisclosed.
The network extends beyond BP fuel stations. In France, BP Pulse operates at motorway service areas, as well as larger retail and commercial sites. For example, its locations include sites along the A10, A11, and A71 motorways, in addition to charging parks at shopping centres.
For Sorégies, an energy supplier based in Poitiers, western France, this acquisition marks a significant expansion from regional to nationwide charging operations. The company already operates over 1,000 charging points in the Vienne and Indre departments and plans to invest more than €100 million euros in electromobility by 2030. With this deal, Sorégies aims to become one of France’s ten largest fast-charging operators, offering charging capacities above 100 kW.
BP Pulse employees involved in development, construction, and operations will also transfer to Sorégies and join its subsidiary, Sorégies Mobilités. The acquired charging parks will subsequently operate under Sorégies’ brand, Alterna énergie. In April, Sorégies, through Alterna énergie, had already taken over Vattenfall’s French energy supply business.
