Nissan Motor will open pre-sales of its all-new NX7 SUV in China next week, while also bringing another all-new new energy vehicle (NEV) model, as it further accelerates its electrification push in the world's largest auto market.
The Japanese automaker disclosed the plan in a statement on Friday, and is showcasing its locally developed research and development achievements at the ninth China International Import Expo currently being held in Shanghai.
To date, Nissan has launched 5 NEV models in China, including the N7 battery-electric sedan, the N6 plug-in hybrid sedan, as well as the NX8 SUV and the Frontier Pro pickup.
The company plans to launch 5 more NEVs in China by summer 2027 to cover mainstream market segments.
The NX7, which is about to open for pre-sales, is the fourth model in the N series of Nissan's China joint venture Dongfeng Nissan, and the second SUV after the NX8.
Earlier regulatory filings show that the NX7 is a 5-seat plug-in hybrid SUV, measuring 4,785 mm long, 1,932 mm wide and 1,665 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm.
The vehicle pairs a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor delivering peak output of 170 kW (228 hp), and is equipped with a 40.9 kWh battery from CATL (HKEX: 3750), offering a battery-electric range of 220 km (137 miles) or 225 km.
The NX7 is fitted with a roof-mounted LiDAR and supports urban navigate on autopilot (NOA), with both its size and positioning sitting below the NX8, which went on sale in April this year.
