Nio's third-gen ES8 nears 160,000 deliveries about a month after last milestone

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) is set to deliver its 160,000th third-generation ES8 this week, with the large electric SUV remaining a major contributor to the Nio main brand's monthly deliveries.

Yang Bo, Nio's head of user operations, announced the plan on Weibo on Monday, continuing his practice of sharing such updates over the past several months.

The third-generation ES8 was launched on September 20, 2025, with deliveries beginning the following day. It reached 150,000 cumulative deliveries on September 20 this year, the first anniversary of its launch.

If this week's delivery proceeds as planned, the latest 10,000 deliveries will have taken about 1 month. The previous increase from 140,000 to 150,000 took 30 days.

ES8 deliveries totaled 10,546 in September, exceeding 10,000 for the third consecutive month, according to China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) data compiled by CnEVPost.

That was slightly higher than the 10,542 reported by Nio on October 1. Based on the latest CPCA data, ES8 deliveries fell 4.14% from August.

In the first 9 months of this year, the ES8 lineup recorded 110,494 deliveries, accounting for 60.71% of the Nio main brand's deliveries and 36.79% of Nio Inc's total.

In September alone, the ES8 accounted for 49.47% of the Nio main brand's 21,318 deliveries and 28.19% of the company's 37,408 deliveries across its 3 brands.

62% of the Nio main brand's deliveries and underscoring the importance of large electric SUVs to its sales mix.
