Firefly, the small electric vehicle brand of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), has reached 90,000 cumulative deliveries after posting record monthly volume in September.
Firefly announced on Weibo on Friday that a handover ceremony for its 90,000th vehicle took place in Zhengzhou, Henan province, marking another milestone for the brand.
Cumulative deliveries stood at 87,536 vehicles at the end of September, implying that Firefly has delivered 2,464 vehicles so far this month.
The brand began deliveries on April 29, 2025, reaching the latest milestone in less than 18 months and about 1.5 months after delivering its 80,000th vehicle in late August.
Firefly delivered 7,327 vehicles in September, up 26.9% year-on-year and 25.2% from August, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
That surpassed the previous record of 7,084 vehicles set in December 2025 and marked the second time its monthly deliveries exceeded 7,000.
Still, Firefly's monthly performance has fluctuated this year. Deliveries rose to 6,946 vehicles in June before falling to 5,771 in July, then recovered for 2 consecutive months.
In the first 9 months of this year, Firefly delivered 48,122 vehicles, accounting for 16.02% of Nio Inc's total over the same period.
Firefly's share of Nio Inc's monthly deliveries rose to 19.59% in September, the highest since deliveries began, underscoring the small-car brand's growing contribution to the group's volume.
Firefly supports Nio Inc's expansion into smaller vehicles and lower price segments, primarily targeting younger buyers and urban commuters.
The brand has also broadened its lineup through design variations. On August 28, Firefly launched the Club Spiaggia edition , limited to 666 vehicles, marking its sixth special edition.
