Moba releases EV Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) report

Battery data specialist Moba has launched a Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) report that’s designed to provide dealers, remarketers and fleet operators with information about an EV’s fault codes alongside battery health data.

The report retrieves and explains a vehicle’s fault codes using the same Moba dongle and workflow as the company’s existing battery diagnostics.

Moba provides a State of Health (SoH) assessment based on official manufacturer data, giving buyers verifiable information about battery condition.

Battery health is a key consideration when assessing an EV, but a vehicle’s value also depends on the condition of its other systems. Moba’s new DTC report covers three groups of systems: batteries and high-voltage components; electric powertrains and charging systems; and safety systems, including braking, steering, airbags and driver assistance. Each code identifies the system involved and includes a plain-language description.

Moba also provides battery analysis from individual cells to complete systems. The analysis detects faulty cells and balancing issues, estimates remaining real-world driving range and identifies when rebalancing or replacement may be needed.

The DTC report is integrated with Moba’s existing EV diagnostic process. The procedure takes approximately one minute, is guided through the mobile application and requires no additional hardware. Each diagnostic generates a certificate, a detailed battery report and a DTC report.

” said Moba CEO and co-founder Guillaume Hébert.
