Mazda has launched the CX-6e in Thailand, beginning the rollout of its latest EV in Southeast Asia. The mid-size SUV is the Japanese automaker's second electric car in the country, following the 6e, which it launched in March.
As in other international markets, Mazda is importing the CX-6e as a CBU from its joint venture with Changan in China, which manufactures the model at a factory in Nanjing, Jiangsu. It gives a choice of two trims: Premium and Premium Sports, priced at 1.259 million baht (approx. €33,500 euros) and 1.299 million baht (~€34,600 euros), respectively.
Mazda offers the CX-6e in Thailand in only one technical configuration, featuring a combination of a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 190 kW and 290 Nm of torque and a 77.9 kWh LFP battery pack that supports charging at up to 11 kW (AC)/194 kW (DC). This setup allows the CX-6e to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 7.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 185 kph.
Via an AC charger, the LFP battery pack fully charges in as little as 7 hours and 53 minutes, while via a DC charger, a 10 to 80 per cent charging session is possible in as little as 24 minutes. In the Premium trim, the CX-6e consumes 168 Wh/km and travels 484 kilometres on a single charge, as per WLTP. The Premium Sports trim increases the consumption to 170 Wh/km and reduces the WLTP range to 468 kilometres.
