BMW offers US customers $500 in public charging credits for 2027 EVs

BMW North America is offering a new public charging package for customers purchasing or leasing eligible BEVs from its 2027 model year range. It includes $500 in charging credits and a free one-year membership at IONNA, giving customers a discount on charging sessions at the charging network.

The offer is available for the 2027 BMW i5, i7, and iX3. It’s comprised of a $300 credit for use across BMW’s ChargingNetwork and a further $200 specifically for charging on the IONNA network. BMW’s wider charging network is accessible through the My BMW app and provides access to over 180,000 public charging points across the US thanks to partnerships with a range of charge point operators – including Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, EVgo and IONNA.

Customers will also receive a complimentary one-year BMW Membership at IONNA, which provides a 25 per cent discount on charging during the membership period. The credits and membership benefits are valid for up to one year from the vehicle’s retail sale date.

Those who purchased or leased an eligible 2027 model before the programme’s launch on 5 November can also qualify. IONNA is a joint venture between BMW and seven other US automakers which has over 200 locations across the country, each featuring DC charging up to 400 kW.

To obtain the offer, customers must complete an account setup process and enrol in the charging package via the My BMW app after purchase. Eligible credits are then automatically applied to qualifying charging sessions. Once the balance has been used, subsequent charging costs are billed to the customer’s registered payment method.
