Opel is reducing the base list prices for its Astra lineup - by introducing the new 'Astra Start' equipment variant. As a result, the entry price for the Astra Electric has dropped by €1,900 - to €36,490. Customers will, however, have to do without features such as a heat pump.
To mark the start of the new model year, Opel is expanding the Astra range with a new base equipment variant called Astra Start. This lowers the entry price for the Astra as a mild hybrid, diesel, and also for the electric variant, the Astra Electric. The Rüsselsheimer brand now offers the latter starting at €36,490. The next higher equipment level, Edition, costs from €38,490 when combined with the electric drivetrain.
Even in the new Start trim, the Astra remains comprehensively equipped as standard. However, customers will have to do without the heat pump, which is no longer included as standard. The 180-degree rear-view camera and the keyless entry and start system are also not available in the Astra Start. That said, there are no changes to the core technology, which includes an 115 kW drivetrain and a 55 kWh battery (with 11 kW AC and up to 100 kW DC charging capability). Features such as six-way adjustable seats, automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, and the two cockpit displays for instruments and infotainment remain part of the standard equipment. Additionally, a new metallic blue paint option is available.
For an additional €500, the Astra Start can be enhanced with the so-called ‘Comfort Package Start’.
