Acura Wants More Models Than Ever Before

Acura has big plans, but in order to get there, the luxury automaker will launch several new and refreshed models. The Japanese luxury brand wants to sell 200,000 cars in the United States by the end of the decade.

Acura’s revamped lineup will expand from four vehicles to six, according to a new Automotive News report. The automaker recently met with dealers in Las Vegas to showcase the new products, including the brand’s new flagship SUV and another based on the Honda Passport.

The automaker has already announced two additions: an "adventure-ready" SUV and an eight-passenger SUV. Acura is also preparing a handful of special-edition models.

According to AN’s report, Acura’s Passport-based model will feature distinct styling, such as a unique hood, while using the same architecture. It will also have a combustion engine.

The new SUV will go on sale in the first half of 2028. Acura says the model “will deliver the capability customers need for their outdoor adventures along with modern and premium styling.”

Acura’s new eight-seat flagship SUV will be the brand’s largest ever, and it’s already in development. Production is expected to start by the end of the decade, featuring a Range Rover-like design.

The Acura will allegedly share a platform with the next-generation MDX, which will likely result in a Honda variant, too, internally codenamed the Pilot XXL. Adding a large, three-row SUV will give Acura a competitor to the Cadillac Escalade and Lexus TX.

Acura is preparing the next-generation RDX , which will go on hiatus after production ends later this year.
