Aldo has tapped Zuhair Murad for its first collaboration with a couture house.
On Monday, the Canadian footwear and accessories brand revealed its new capsule collection with the designer label spanning shoes, bags, jewelry and eyewear.
Two signature footwear silhouettes are at the center of the collection. These include a platform sandal with an open toe, slim ankle strap, and sculptural block heel, and a pointed-toe slingback pump featuring a slender heel and refined strap detail. Glitter finishes, metallic gold tones, and snakeskin-inspired textures on the shoes aim to deliver a distinct couture aesthetic, Aldo noted.
The evening bag offering includes designs adorned by bold hardware, while the jewelry and eyewear feature polished metals and star-inspired motifs. Shoes retail between $200 and $300, the handbags retail between $140 and 180, and the accessories retail between $40 and $125.
Amanda Amar, vice president of brand strategy, public relations and social at Aldo, reiterated in a statement that the new Zuhair Murad x Aldo partnership is the first of its kind for the Aldo brand.
“The privilege of collaborating with the house and Mr. Murad is a defining moment for Aldo,” Amar noted. “Zuhair Murad’s impact not just in couture but in the luxury fashion ecosystem as a whole, allowed us to create a collection that honors the signature, visual expressions of the house while staying true to the essence of Aldo.”
Designer Zuhair Murad added that while planning this collection, it was important for him to create pieces that remain true to the brand.
