THE WHAT? L’Oréal-owned Valentino Beauty is launching its first Haute Beauté product in China, introducing a limited-edition couture cushion foundation exclusively through its renovated Shanghai flagship as it expands its luxury cosmetics business in Asia.
THE DETAILS The Haute Beauté Go-Cushion Glow will launch on 28 October 2026 at Valentino Beauty’s Xintiandi boutique in Shanghai, with just 100 individually numbered editions priced at RMB4,000 (approximately US$600). Each refillable compact features handcrafted couture detailing, including gold embroidery, beads and sequins on purple velvet. The launch builds on the success of Valentino’s existing Go-Cushion Glow, which ranks sixth in China’s cushion category year-to-date. The brand currently operates 27 standalone beauty stores globally, including 25 in China, with the redesigned Shanghai location serving as a template for future retail expansion.
THE WHY? The launch highlights the growing convergence of luxury fashion, premium cosmetics and experiential retail in China’s competitive beauty market. By combining couture craftsmanship with an established make-up product, Valentino Beauty is pursuing higher-value positioning while using exclusive retail distribution to strengthen brand differentiation and consumer engagement.
