Solgram , a premium grocery platform founded by former Zepto Cafe executive Shashank Shekhar Sharma , has raised over $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital , with participation from hospitality entrepreneur Kapil Chopra , as it looks to build a cold-chain-led grocery business and capture 25 per cent of its target market by 2030.
The round closed within a quarter of the company's launch in Gurugram. The capital will be deployed towards expanding its temperature-controlled supply chain , strengthening technology, deepening sourcing partnerships and scaling operations across NCR, before entering other key markets.
Sharma said he initially bootstrapped the business with approximately Rs 3 crore from personal savings before bringing in institutional investors.
“I understood the market and liquidity dynamics. Instead of trying to raise capital first, I decided that if the idea was solid, I should build it myself,” Sharma told ETRetail.
