Slimstock ANZ and Thomax have formed a partnership to integrate inventory planning with warehouse and transport management systems across Australia and New Zealand.
The agreement links Slimstock's Slim4 planning software with Thomax's warehouse management system and transport management system, connecting demand forecasting and replenishment planning with warehousing and freight execution.
The arrangement is intended to address gaps between inventory planning and fulfilment operations across eCommerce, third-party logistics, wholesale distribution and omnichannel retail.
The partnership begins in Australia and New Zealand, where both groups will work together on customers that need tighter coordination between upstream planning and downstream delivery. They are also considering expansion into other markets where Thomax operates, including the United Kingdom, the United States and parts of Asia.
Slimstock's Slim4 platform is used for automated forecasting, replenishment, multi-echelon inventory optimisation and integrated business planning. Thomax supplies warehouse and transport software that manages order fulfilment, warehouse workflows and routing.
By connecting the two systems, customers should be able to translate inventory forecasts into warehouse activity and transport decisions with less manual intervention.
The announcement reflects continued investment by supply chain software providers in linking planning systems more closely to execution tools, as retailers, distributors and logistics operators seek to manage volatility, fulfilment complexity and rising transport costs.
In Australia and New Zealand, those pressures have been shaped by labour constraints, dispersed distribution networks and growing expectations for faster delivery across online and store-based channels.
