Queen Letizia Makes a Kitten Heel Work for a Formal Event at the 2026 Princess of Asturias Awards

King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia of Spain coordinated in all black to attend the 2026 Princess of Asturias Awards on Friday in Oviedo, Spain. The queen added a pop of glam to her look by going with metallic gold shoes and accessories.

Naturally, as she often does, the royal opted for one of her go-to Spanish footwear brands for the event. She wore the Magrit Sea slingback pumps in metallic gold. The pump is designed with a slingback strap that wraps around the heel and holds the shoe in place. They are complete with a pointed toe and a slightly square-shaped vamp.

The shoes feature a d’orsay silhouette, leaving the foot exposed on both sides and are crafted from a lustrous gold leather. They feature a tiny 4-cm kitten heel that is slightly curved. The shoes retail for approximately $370. She has previously worn the same shoes in metallic silver.

She paired the heels with a full-length black long-sleeve dress made of Pyratex Recycled Lyocell fabric. The silhouette featured subtle draping at the waist and a flowing, relaxed skirt, paired with a small metallic gold clutch and large gold earrings. The queen, who prefers a shorter heel, is known for keeping a handful of clothing and shoe designers at the ready for her royal duties. Magrit has been a brand that she has returned to repeatedly, wearing everything from the brand’s pumps to their boots.

The Princess of Asturias Awards annually recognize distinguished individuals and institutions in fields such as the arts, literature, social sciences, scientific and technical research, international cooperation, concord, communication and humanities, as well as sports.
