THE WHAT? Procter & Gamble (P&G) has reported a 4% increase in net sales to US$23.3 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, supported by growth across its beauty, grooming and personal care businesses.
THE DETAILS For the quarter ended 30 September 2026, organic sales increased 4%, while core earnings per share rose 1% to US$2.00. The Beauty division generated US$4.41 billion in revenues, up 6% on a reported basis, with organic sales increasing 5%. Hair care benefited from innovation-led pricing and favourable product mix, while personal care growth was supported by higher volumes in Greater China and Europe. Skincare recorded mid-single-digit organic growth, driven by premium products and increased North American demand. Grooming organic sales also rose 5%. P&G maintained its full-year organic sales growth forecast of 1–3% and revised its reported sales growth outlook to 2–4%, reflecting its acquisition of Thorne.
THE WHY? The results highlight the resilience of P&G’s beauty and personal care portfolio, with premiumisation, product innovation and volume growth supporting performance across key markets. However, rising raw material, energy and transportation costs continue to place pressure on profitability, reinforcing the importance of pricing strategies and supply chain efficiency.
