At the Rome International Film Festival, the actress wore a strapless black gown marked by a striking black-and-white pattern of abstract brushstrokes.
On Saturday night, Naomi Watts took to the red carpet at the Rome International Film Festival as part of the “All’s Fair” season two screening. The actress sported a strapless black gown from the Roksanda Spring 2027 collection accented with white brushstrokes.
Watts’s choice of outfit had a certain understated extravagance. The top was somewhat simple, a strapless corset bodice with a few abstract splashes of white congregating on the righthand side, but the gown grew decidedly more dramatic on the way down. Peplum hip panels gave way to an architectural ball gown skirt. The dress’s black backdrop was adorned throughout with freeform, block-like strokes of white that grew more abundant toward the hemline.
Watts paired the dress with a simple pair of pointed toe cobalt blue pumps and a beignet tapered sterling silver necklace. She wore her hair half up and sported a reddish shade of nude lipstick for the event.
Roksanda’s Spring 2027 collection is inspired in large part by textile sculptor Françoise Grossen, whose designs incorporated a lot of dramatic knotting and braiding. In the WWD review of the fashion line , Roksanda Ilinčić commented on Grossen’s influence on her work, stating, “There’s something very earthly, very female about it. You know, women sitting, braiding, braiding hair, braiding dresses, braiding garments.
