The 18-year-old pop star adds a Gen Z angle to the Korean skin care brand.
There are a lot of titles in Katseye member Yoonchae’s repertoire: singer, dancer and now ambassador for Korean skin care brand Dr. Jart+.
On Friday, the 18-year-old pop star was named Dr. Jart+’s first North American ambassador. The announcement also included news of a partnership bundle, which includes the CryoRubber Moisturizing Mask, Ceramidin Skin Barrier Korean Moisturizing Cream, Ceramidin Skin Barrier Korean Serum Milky Toner and a newly reformulated Premium BB SPF 30.
Originally introduced in the early 2000s, the updated BB cream contains 2% niacinamide and glycerin, designed to moisturize, strengthen the skin barrier, protect with SPF and deliver all-day coverage with a “natural glass skin finish.” Priced at $49 per 40 ml, the product is available in eight shades through the Dr. Jart+ website and Sephora.
“I’ve always believed that taking care of my skin is a way of taking care of myself,” said Yoonchae. “No matter how busy my schedule gets, I love having a simple routine that makes me feel confident and comfortable in my own skin. Dr. Jart+ has always felt fun and innovative to me.”
Yoonchae — who shares the brand’s Korean heritage — is hoped to bring “a new perspective” to the brand’s history of science-backed skin care.
VP Ye Jin Kim added, “Music, especially K-pop, has always been an important part of how Dr. Jart+ shows up in culture.
