Frances Valentine, the lifestyle brand cofounded by Elyce Arons, has partnered with the Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative to launch a limited-edition capsule collection this fall celebrating the timeless fashion and spirit of Mary Tyler Moore.
Twenty percent of net proceeds will support the Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative, which works to preserve and restore vision for people affected by diabetes-related eye disease.
Moore, who starred in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” died in 2017 at the age of 80. She was known for her polished and chic American style, wearing capri pants, fitted tops and sweaters, knee-length and A-line skirts and tailored dresses and shirtdresses on her TV shows.
The capsule features primarily apparel, with a select offering of accessories, drawn from the actress and producer’s most memorable fashion moments.
For Arons, chief executive officer of Frances Valentine, the collaboration is deeply personal. To her, Moore was not just a style icon but rather a lifelong role model. Arons’ bestselling memoir, released last year, is titled, “We Might Just Make It After All,” the theme song for Moore’s show. In Arons’ book, she recounts the story of her best friend, Kate, “Katy” Spade, their inseparable bond and how the two were initially connected in college by their shared love of the show. The friendship ultimately led to the creation of the Kate Spade label and later Frances Valentine, which was founded by Arons, Kate Spade, Andy Spade and Paola Venturi.
