First Look: Rick Owens Opens New Boutique at South Coast Plaza in California

RICK’S RETAIL: Rick Owens has expanded his retail presence in Southern California with a new boutique at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif., marking an Orange County exclusive for the Paris-based fashion label.

The 2,306-square-foot store carries the designer’s fall 2026 men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, along with pieces from the home collection. The opening adds Owens to the shopping center’s roster of luxury brands, which also includes Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Maison Margiela.

The boutique incorporates concrete prong sculptures previously displayed in the courtyard of the Palais Galliera in Paris as part of “Rick Owens: Temple of Love,” a 2025 retrospective examining more than three decades of the designer’s work in fashion and design.

“Those sculptures meant a lot to me in that space and will mean a lot to me in this space now,” Rick Owens told WWD.

The opening represents a return to familiar territory for Owens, who grew up in California and established his namesake label in Los Angeles in the 1990s before relocating to Paris in 2003. His business has since expanded across ready-to-wear, footwear, furniture and home design.

“I am delighted to be part of South Coast Plaza, which represented the best of the best when I was growing up in California,” Owens added.

A. S. locations in New York, Miami, Las Vegas, as well as Paris, Milan, Berlin, Ibiza, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Tokyo.
