THE WHAT? Chanel has become the principal partner of Hong Kong’s M+ museum, expanding its cultural investment in Asia through a new three-year programme supporting contemporary art, exhibitions and digital initiatives.
THE DETAILS The expanded partnership introduces Pioneering Visions, a three-year initiative showcasing multidisciplinary artists from Hong Kong, Greater China and across Asia. The programme will include exhibitions, public events, workshops and a new digital platform featuring works from the museum’s collection. Its first major exhibition, Sarah Sze: Centrifuge, is scheduled for February 2027. The agreement builds on Chanel’s existing support for film restoration and moving-image projects through the Chanel Culture Fund, strengthening its relationship with one of Asia’s leading contemporary art institutions.
THE WHY? The partnership reflects the growing importance of cultural investment in luxury brand positioning, particularly across strategically important Asian markets. By expanding its association with contemporary art and cultural institutions, Chanel is strengthening its regional visibility and long-term brand equity through initiatives that extend beyond traditional product marketing and retail expansion.
