Breuninger is accelerating its expansion in Europe. After earlier launches in the first half of the year, it is now expanding into eleven more markets. As a result, the company will now be active in 24 markets in total.
The German family-owned Breuninger launched an online store in addition to its premium department stores in 2008. Since then, it has expanded internationally. Earlier this year, the online store launched in Denmark, Sweden and Romania.
Now, more countries are being added. The store is expanding to Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ireland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Portugal and Greece. Customers will get access to an English-language online store.
“With the simultaneous launch in eleven additional European countries, we are taking a major and important step in our internationalization strategy and strengthening our online business as a key growth driver for Breuninger. The expanded European presence creates the foundation for acquiring new customers and further developing our international business in the long term”, says Holger Blecker, CEO of Breuninger.
The amount of Breuninger’s active markets is increasing from 13 to 24. Additionally, the company is also expanding its marketplace. The marketplace was launched in Germany in 2020. Now, it is expanding into three other markets: Poland, Austria and the Netherlands. The company’s loyalty program (BEYOND), is also expanding into more markets.
