Türkiye is preparing to officially launch the Türkiye Industrial Decarbonization Investment Platform (TIDIP) during the upcoming 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya.
Established via a joint framework between the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the platform provides a centralized structure to finance heavy industry decarbonization.
The investment framework targets hard-to-abate sectors, including steel, aluminum, cement, and fertilizer, with the goal of mobilizing more than $6 billion by 2030 to abate 20 million tonnes of annual CO2 equivalent emissions.
Capital deployment under the platform is structured across five primary technology pillars: green hydrogen production, point-source carbon capture, site-wide energy efficiency retrofits, renewable power generation, and specialized climate technology solutions.
The initiative has secured initial financial momentum ahead of its formal COP31 launch:

Turkish Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir noted that the platform aims to deepen strategic investment ties between Türkiye and European markets while preparing domestic industrial exporters for evolving compliance rules, such as the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
Additional international development banks and commercial lenders are expected to co-sign the joint declaration establishing the platform during the Antalya summit.
