macOS 27.2 Golden Gate beta 4 now available, here’s what’s coming

Apple is rolling out the fourth developer beta for macOS 27.2 Golden Gate, ahead of the official release in the coming weeks. Here’s what to expect.

Apple appears to be back to its weekly cycle of the 27.2 beta, after a two-week gap between developer betas 2 and 3.

The company is now rolling out macOS 27.2 beta 4 to developers, which is on the lighter side of user-facing features. The biggest addition to the system so far is Siri AI’s support for five additional languages, following its English-only initial rollout last month with macOS 27 Golden Gate.

Siri AI in macOS 27.2 Golden Gate will add support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, as Apple promised during the Surprise and Shine event.

One particularly interesting addition to macOS 27.2 beta 3, released last week, was the discovery of new gesture recognition tools in several built-in apps, which could be laying the groundwork for Apple’s upcoming touchscreen MacBook Pro.

Apple is expected to unveil its first-ever touchscreen MacBook Pro later this month, with an announcement currently rumored for October 27. The company is also expected to introduce a new iPad mini with an OLED display, alongside updated iMac and entry-level MacBook Pro models powered by the M6 chip.

Back to today’s beta, its release build is 26B5112a, which indicates this might be the last release before the first RC. We are digging through the system and will report back if we find any noteworthy tidbits.
