Apple’s European government affairs chief to speak at Web Summit 2026

Apple’s Director of European Government Affairs, Sébastien Gros, will speak at this year’s Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, taking place November 9–12. Here are the details.

Over the past few years, Apple has regularly sent executives to speak at Web Summit.

From Craig Federighi, who argued against allowing sideloading on the iPhone in 2021, to Sumbul Desai discussing Apple’s healthcare initiatives in 2022, to Sarah Herrlinger exploring accessibility and AI in 2024, to Apple Music co-lead Ole Obermann discussing the music industry in 2025, Apple has used the event to address a wide range of topics.

This year, as spotted by iFeed, the company will send Sébastien Gros, its Director of Government Affairs for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), to speak at the event.

As of now, details about Gros’s participation, including the subject of his session, have not yet been announced.

As is usually the case, this year’s Web Summit is shaping up to be a massive gathering, with more than 850 speakers (including a few humanoid robots) from dozens of countries and territories, representing hundreds of companies alongside universities, public institutions and other organizations.

For those following Apple, another notable speaker on this year’s lineup is Tony Fadell, the former Apple executive who helped create the iPod and iPhone.
