Apple Announces OLED MacBook Pro With Touch Display

Apple today announced a new high-end MacBook Pro , which is available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. The new device has a PROLED XDR display that supports touch gestures, and a glowing rear Apple logo. Pricing on the ‌MacBook Pro‌ starts at $2,899 for the 14-inch model and $3,399 for the 16-inch model. Apple says the ‌MacBook Pro‌ has the "world's best display in a pro laptop." The PROLED display uses tandem OLED paired with advanced algorithms in the display engine and factory calibration for "exceptional brightness, striking contrast, and vivid true-to-life colors." The display offers up to 2000 nits peak HDR and SDR brightness, along with a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. A display engine controls the color and luminance of each pixel, compensating for content, temperature, environment, and pixel use. ProMotion technology is available with refresh rates ranging from 10Hz to 120Hz. An antireflective coating cuts down on glare in bright lighting conditions, and there is an option to order the new ‌MacBook Pro‌ with a nano-texture display. We're glowing with excitement over the new MacBook Pro. You've gotta touch it to believe it. https://t.co/BLiGkGaefL

A touch sensor is built directly in the display panel, so there is no added latency. " Users can scroll through a webpage with a swipe, pinch to zoom in on a photo, drag and drop slides from one presentation to another, and double-tap a window to have it fill the screen. A new hinge design offers more stability when using touch, and advanced video stabilization smooths the camera feed when using touch on a video call.
