Business News Tech AI China issues guidelines for 'new productive forces' including AI

China is set to implement technology monitoring and risk warning systems to ensure the safety of artificial intelligence. The government will hold individuals accountable for substantial losses linked to reckless AI investments. Furthermore, guidelines advocate the growth of a low-altitude economy that includes civilian drones and air taxis. As this technology sector expands, safety measures will be paramount, ultimately fostering a reliable environment for emerging technological advancements.

China will build technology monitoring, risk warning and emergency response systems to ensure AI is safe, reliable and controllable, state-run Xinhua news agency reported on Friday, citing new government guidelines. Authorities will also hold those responsible for major losses caused by "blind" investment in what the guidelines called "new productive forces" including AI and a wide range of other frontier technologies strictly accountable. China will promote the healthy and orderly development of the low-altitude economy - businesses built around civilian drones, air taxis , small aircraft and related services operating in low-altitude airspace - while ensuring safety, the guidelines said.
