Tim Curry Has Died, Leaving Behind Some Unforgettable Video Game Performances

Legendary actor Tim Curry has died, aged 80. The star of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the English actor was also celebrated for his work in the recording booth, bringing dozens of animated series and video game characters to life-- including a scene-stealing performance as Premier Anatoly Cherdenko in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.

While a cause of death hasn't been revealed, it is worth noting that Curry had been battling various health issues after he had a major stroke in 2012. The English actor dealt with short-term memory and mobility issues following this, although he continued to work in the entertainment industry.

Film roles like Darkness in Legend, the concierge in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Pennywise in Stephen King's It, and Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island cemented his role as a Hollywood legend, and he was also a regular on several TV series throughout the decades. Curry regularly appeared on stage--including a memorable performance as King Arthur in Spamalot--and he even released several albums.

For many fans, Curry will be forever immortalized for his plans to escape to the one place uncorrupted by capitalism: SPACE!

Curry's death is sadly the latest in the entertainment industry, as country singer Dolly Parton also passed away this week, and last week, Nashville star Hayden Panettiere's death sent shockwaves when it was announced.
