PlayStation 5 gamers have a ton of exciting new releases to look forward to in September 2026, including one of the most highly-anticipated exclusives in the console's history. Ever since the PlayStation 5 first hit the scene in 2020, Sony has worked to ensure that there is a constant stream of brand-new game releases for the platform. Still, there have rarely been months quite as busy as September 2026 is gearing up to be.
September is set to be one of the busiest months in gaming history when it comes to high-profile new releases. This is seemingly because of the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date in November, with game companies wanting to give their titles plenty of time on the market without having to compete with Rockstar's juggernaut. PS5 gamers looking for something to play to keep busy while they wait for GTA 6 will soon be spoiled for choice thanks to all the new games on deck for September 2026.
The next update to the PlayStation Plus subscription service is adding yet another open world co-op game for fans to play.
This is not a comprehensive list of every single new PS5 game releasing in September.
The ridiculously busy September 2026 is kicking off with The Blood of Dawnwalker on September 3 , with both NBA 2K27 and Onimusha: Way of the Sword launching on September 4. 0 release is set for September 9. NHL 27 will hit PS5 on September 11, followed by Marvel's Wolverine and RuneScape: Dragonwilds on September 15, Dune: Awakening on September 22, Control Resonant on September 24, Silent Hill: Townfall on September 24, EA Sports FC 27 on September 25, and finally, Minecraft Dungeons 2 on September 29.
