Pokemon GO has officially revealed a brand-new event coming to the game in September 2026, putting Phantump in the spotlight for a Catch Mastery event. September will mark the start of the newest season of Pokemon GO with the launch of Twilight Trials.

The upcoming season for the monster-catching mobile game is bringing plenty of new content to excite fans of the game. Scopely has confirmed multiple new Pokemon set to make their Pokemon GO debut during Twilight Trials, including Maschiff, Mega Staraptor, and Mega Chandelure. The company has also confirmed the dates for the Community Days running throughout the new season, though official featured Pokemon have not been revealed yet. Fans of Pokemon GO can now pencil in another new event for September, with Scopely giving fans the chance to pick up a popular Gen 6 Pokemon.

Pokemon GO gives away free rewards from rare Pokemon to in-game cosmetics, but claiming them won't be as straightforward as some might like.

Pokemon GO officially revealed the new Phantump Catch Mastery event, focused on the Gen 6 Ghost Pokemon. The event will feature Phantump encounters as rewards for Field Research, free Timed Research, and paid Timed Research missions, with bonus Candy granted for Nice or better catches during the event and increased chances of finding a Shiny Pokemon . Players will also be able to find Cherubi and Drifloon more frequently in the wild with similarly boosted Shiny chances, as well as in Field Research missions. m. m. local time.
